- Joseph & Mary go to Bethlehem for a census. She gives birth to Christ the Lord in a manger, with much rejoicing by angels & shepherds. Jesus is circumcised on the 8th day. In Jerusalem Simeon exalts having seen the Savior. Joseph & Mary find the boy Jesus with the wise men. #Lk2
- When Tiberius Caesar reigned, John the Baptist—a voice of one calling in the wilderness—preaches a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. John foretells Jesus’s teachings. Herod imprisons John for reproving Herod’s brother’s wife. The genealogy of Jesus is told. #Lk3
- Jesus is tempted 3 times by the devil: man shall not live by bread alone; worship the Lord thy God; thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. His fame grows teaching at synagogues in Nazareth & Galilee. Jesus cures the sick & casts out devils. Thou art Christ, the Son of God. #Lk4
- Jesus preaches from a boat & miraculously catches fish. He cures leprosy, gains disciples & forgives sins, a blasphemy. He eats with publicans: I come not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. No man also having drunk old wine wants new; the old is better. #Lk5

- Jesus sends His 12 apostles to evangelize, & feeds 5000. Herod & others ask who Jesus is—John the Baptist, Elijah, a prophet? A voice from a cloud: This is my beloved Son. Jesus casts a devil out from a child. He that is not against us is for us. Let the dead bury the dead. #Lk9
- Jesus gives instructions & sends 72 disciples to preach. For those who reject you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom. To inherit eternal life, Jesus says Love the Lord thy God. He explains it with the parable of the good Samaritan. Jesus visits Mary & Martha. #Lk10
- Jesus teaches His disciples the Lord’s Prayer. He casts out a devil, but not on behalf of Beelzebub, as a house divided against itself falleth. Jesus is a sign, like Jonas: do not put a candle under a bowl, but let it shine. Jesus attacks Pharisees & lawyers: Woe unto you! #Lk11
- Jesus tells the parable of the fool piling up riches when he may soon die. Consider the sparrows and lilies, who feeds & clothes them? For where your treasure is, your heart will also be. I come not to bring peace, but rather division. Be watchful & aware of signs. #Lk12
- Jesus tells the parable of the fig tree that does not bear fruit, & cures a woman of her infirmity. The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed that grew into a great tree. Jesus warns of the door being shut, and tells of his sorrow for Jerusalem that kills the prophets. #Lk13
- Jesus heals on the Sabbath. Sit at the lowest place, for he who exalts himself shall be abased, & he that humbles himself shall be exalted. Invite the poor who cannot repay you. Attempt what can be completed. For if the salt has lost its savor, how shall it be seasoned? #Lk14
- The story of the prodigal son is told, where 1 of 2 brothers lives a dissolute life & returns home to be feted, making his brother resentful. Like lost sheep or silver, more joy shall be in heaven over 1 sinner that repents than 99 just persons having no need to repent. #Lk15
- Jesus tells the parable of a manager about to be fired by his rich boss. The manager reduces the debt some owe to the boss so that they will house him, which the boss finds shrewd. The story of the beggar Lazarus is told, who is rewarded in heaven unlike a rich miserly man. #Lk16
- Jesus says to his disciples: Woe unto him through which offenses come! Jesus cures 10 lepers, but only one, a Samaritan, returns to thank Him. The kingdom of God is within you. If you seek to save your life, you will lose it. #Lk17
- Jesus tells the parable of the persistent widow who is avenged by an indifferent judge, & of two men praying, with the humble man justified. He tells a ruler what is required to gain eternal life—sell all thou hast—foretells his death, & cures a blind man. #Lk18
- Jesus enters Jericho & stays with Zacchaeus, a wealthy tax collector. He tells the parable of the minas, where a nobleman rewards only his servants who use money to make money. Entering Jerusalem on a colt with disciples rejoicing, He casts out moneychangers from a temple. #Lk19
- The chief priests, scribes, & Sadducees quiz Jesus about the source of his authority, what shall be given to Caesar, & whose wife one is given in heaven. Jesus tells the parable of the vineyard, whose owner sends servants to check his property, who are then beaten & killed. #Lk20
- The widow’s offering of 2 mites is greater than much from rich men, because she has cast in all she had. His disciples ask for signs, & Jesus tells of the days of vengeance. He spoke the parable of the fig tree which, when shoots are seen, means the kingdom of God is nigh. #Lk21
- Jesus enters Jerusalem & has a last Passover supper with His disciples. He tells them that 1 of them will betray Him, & that Peter will thrice deny Him. He prays—not my will, but thine, be done—but the disciples sleep. Judas betrays Jesus to the elders. Peter denies Christ. #Lk22
- Jesus is taken to Pilate & then Herod, who returns Him to Pilate. Pilate finds no guilt, but the crowd demands Barabbas released & Christ crucified. Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry the cross. Christ & 2 criminals are crucified. Forgive them; they know not what they do. #Lk23
- Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James, & other women go to the sepulcher & are told by angels that Christ is risen. They tell the eleven others. Jesus appears to them, eats, & says He has fulfilled the law of Moses. Later, He is carried into heaven near Bethany. #Lk24
