- The Apostle Peter writes to believers in Asia to praise God as a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus. Your trials prove that your faith is genuine. You are redeemed not through silver or gold, but through the precious blood of Christ. God’s Word endures forever. #1Pet1
- Jesus is the living stone that, rejected by men & making them stumble, becomes the cornerstone of His house. Live good lives so pagans take notice. Submit to authorities. Do not use your liberty as a cloak of maliciousness. Like Jesus, prepare to suffer for good deeds. #1Pet2
- Wives, act reverently to convert an unbelieving husband if words do not work. Inner beauty is better than outer adornment. Repay evil with blessing. Use your good behavior in Christ to shame the malicious. Like Christ, your body may die but you can remain alive in spirit. #1Pet3
- Be ready to account to him who judges the quick and the dead. The end of all things is near. Have fervent charity, which covers a multitude of sins. Do not be ashamed as a Christian even if you suffer as a Christian. For the time is come that judgment must begin. #1Pet4
- Peter tells the elders to watch over the people as a shepherd watches his sheep. Do it willingly, not for filthy lucre. He tells the young to submit to the elders. Clothe yourself with humility. Beware the devil, prowling like a lion looking for someone to devour. #1Pet5
- Simon Peter writes to the adelphi, telling them that Jesus Christ has given us all we need to live a godly life and escape the corruption of the world. Possess the qualities of goodness, self-control, mutual affection and love to enter the kingdom of God. #2Pet1
- Beware false prophets & slaves to depravity, who even good people of old could not avoid. These are wells without water, clouds carried by a storm. Even when shown righteousness, they return to their evil ways, as a dog returns to its vomit and a sow to the mire. #2Pet2
- In the last days, scoffers who follow their lusts will ridicule you about the promise of His coming. But God is patient: the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. Be diligent that you are found blameless. Grow in grace in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior. #2Pet3
