- Paul thanks the Ephesians for their faith and love. Praise be to the Lord Jesus Christ, who has given us spiritual blessings and lavished us with the riches of God’s grace. We were chosen by Him, marked by the Holy Spirit, and given the gospel of salvation. #Eph1
- Though we are dead in sin, we are raised up by God’s mercy and grace. For by grace are you saved through faith; it is the gift of God. Jews and Gentiles are reconciled unto God by Christ on the cross, thereby slaying their enmity. #Eph2
- Paul’s revelation is that through the gospel, Gentiles are heirs to Israel. Both Jews and Gentiles share God’s plan. Paul boasts that though he is the least of all, God’s grace has revealed to him the mystery of God’s plan, the eternal purpose of Jesus Christ. #Eph3
- We are the body of Christ. For Christian living, be humble, gentle, patient, and filled with the truth of love. Reject sensuality and greed. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry. Do not steal. Get rid of bitterness, rage and anger. Forgive. #Eph4
- Walk in the light of the Lord; avoid sexual immorality and drunkenness. Wives, submit unto your husbands and unto the Lord. Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church. For a man shall leave his father and mother and join with his wife; they two become one flesh. #Eph5
- The commandment to honor thy father and mother is restated, noting that it promises long life. Slaves are to obey masters and masters are to treat slaves well, as we all serve the Lord. Put on the armor of God, which is the word of the Lord. Stand firm against evil. Pray. #Eph6
